NBA Finals - Thoughts on the game and looking ahead to next season…

article image placeholderHow the Warriors won the NBA Finals championship
So last night the Golden State Warriors defeated the Boston Celtics to win the NBA championship. The warriors ended up with a 13 point lead to seal the deal 103 to 990. They won the series in four games, four to two, and it was an interesting one to say the least. I mean, Boston had a very commanding lead and then had something like 25 points unanswered going into the second half, or, excuse me, going into the second quarter

All about being healthy!

I was a little surprised with last night, not necessarily with the end result, but with the lack of effort and urgency that I saw from the Celtics that surprised me. I know that they have turned the ball over in games, but I didn't think they do that in an elimination game team. And they just did it so easily, and they really weren't helping on defense. They just played like a team that was out of gas

What I thought was the most amazing part about this final was that both teams were fairly organic teams. They were not artificially stitched together superstar teams. This is the core of the warriors that have grown over for so much time. Andrew Wiggins was amazing and he had been pretty much rejected by the rest of the league, it seems, but he found such a great home and the warriors and he has shaped up to be a fantastic player, as Phil pointed out

My biggest takeaway from the series, though, was the development of Jason Tatum. He seems like he lacks confidence the way he plays. He doesn't give it to everybody the same way. He seems to shrink sometimes and become more passive than aggressive. But overall, I have to say that this year's finals was pretty exciting

And I hope that he does because he has all the talent, seems like a very good kid, and I hope he uses this as an opportunity to get better. The greats the game would look at that, get p***** off and get in the gym the next day. That's exactly what Magic or Michael would do and that's what he's got to do here if he's going to be on that next level of NBA stardom

Whereas you have a team like Chelsea, you have a team like Manchester City. Both of those teams were bought. They literally were. There's no arguing about that. They splashed as much cash as possible on players that they think are superstars. And in the case of Chelsea, it's brought them success from time to time, but this past season, it certainly blew up in their face. Manchester City, different story entirely

Hey, Taylor. The reason I don't like the Clippers is more of a reaction to the fact that I like the Lakers. That's been my La team for a long time, especially during the Kobe Bryant the other in fact, it was more of are like Kobe Bryant and that's why I like the Lakers

There have been a couple of interesting picks so far. I'm going to tag Phil in this as well because I know that he is a college ball person and maybe he could shed some light on some of the picks that have happened already. Remind me if you watch college basketball. Don't think you do, but remind me if I'm wrong. Anyways, talk to you soon

Yeah. Taylor I don't watch as much college basketball as I used to. I still watch a little bit, but I don't know the players as much as I would have a number of years ago

The Celtics, I'd say, in game six, just kind of looked like a team that kind of accepted they had lost the finals and we're just kind of playing to be there and to finish up the series. And I think that was hard for a lot of Boston fans to see just because they've put so much work into this season and they weren't even expected really to get to the finals
