This is really interesting to me about how gender is portrayed on television and you're hitting the nail on something that I've thought about before and just couldn't put my finger on. And that's the idea that they're expressing Uber masculinity. But it's also because they are feminized by culture that the intellectual or the geek is seen as feminine and has to prove his masculinity in order to fit in with the other men who are not intellectualized and how they're on the defensive
