Parasite winning Best Picture at the Oscars!

Okay, I'll kick things off. It's hard to select just one, but as a fan of moviemaking, I have to choose the time that Parasite won Best Picture at the Academy Awards. Although it was very recent, this was a defining moment for for many reasons. Mostly, I think this moment is huge for cinema as a whole, as it signifies a very conscious shift away from viewing films as a purely Hollywood product

So Firstly, I'm so excited. Welcome to the pop culture station. Will definitely be using this a lot. Secondly, so my personal favorite moment in pop culture, especially recently, call me Marvel Nerd, which you already know I am. But there's two moments in Game was a big one

And I thought it was back F****, because I learned to accept the story as a whole, even though I couldn't understand what they were saying. I read subtitles. I made it work based on my understanding, and it was a fantastic show, one of my favorites

Alright. So in my personal opinion, hands down one of the greatest crowning achievements of pop culture history was probably what Halle Berry wanted. The actress of the year award, Ed Usher did so much from the African American entertainers of our world. They gave so much help. I remember sitting there and watching it and seeing it. It was like history being magical moment and that's probably one of the best

Answeing your question on recent pop culture

And I thought Encounter was just amazing how far they've come, computer wise, animation wise, whatever. They've done a really great job. And I remember just like watching it and always wanting to know what happens next. And it's just like that good book you just can't put down because you want to see what the ending title is. You just want to see what happens next. Anyway, that's my take on the answer for this pop culture. Anyway, thank you very much

Hey, Suzanne, great to hear you on this thread. I just want to say I was looking at Incanto recently because I was thinking I really, really want to see it, but I'm just like, I have to go over the edge of, like, am I in the mood? And it's kind of karmic that you just mentioned here. So you put me over the edge

This makes me wonder; IS there a popular culture in the past 10 years?

And now it seems to me an old guy that things are a little more spread out. We're in the Netflix generation where there's so many great things to watch and read and experience that it's hard for something kind of average to grab hold, which was the case back then. Extremely average things would become part and Pardes of American pop culture. We used to sit and watch Three's Company. You have to Google that if you're not of a certain age
