For that, I want to say Congratulations, Chris. You're the man. It is such a pleasure to have you here. And I guess the best place to start would be what brought you to La. Is it as simple as comedy? I know you're from the East Coast, so if you could just tell us a little bit about how you made that journey out west and what was really lighting that fire in your belly. So good to have you here, man
And I always had written down stuff, but I was always afraid to try it. And then finally I ran into Just Serendipitously, a friend of a friend who ran a show. He said, I'll give you some stand up time to try out comedy. And I was blown away by the kindness I was given. So I went up and I'll never forget it was the week of the Donald Trump election, if you guys remember that guy
Thanks for that question, Taylor. That's it's very telling that you're you want to know about, you know, what comics should do and how to gain confidence. It's all about just performing over and over and over again and not giving a s*** what the audience thinks. And I mean that by saying this, if you want to be a comedian, if you think you're funny, if you think you can make an audience laugh, just go try it
But with comedy, there's a lot of trial and error, and you need to build up momentum and you need to build up confidence, as you were saying. So I think that that's all really sound advice. One thing that I wanted to talk to you about in relation to your comedy, because I see you posting about it quite often is the shows that you're doing with Giant Kombucha
I'm glad you asked that, Taylor. It's pretty simple in comedy. When you start, you ain't making no money. So I needed a day job. And I got into beverage sales early on in my comedy career and realized that they go hand in hand. Whether you're you're selling a product or selling yourself on stage with jokes, you're trying to get to build a relationship with your client or with your audience
I would just say that it's fermented tea, but I don't know much more about it. Other than that, I know that it's fairly good for you, although I don't know if that translates to the alcoholic version of kombucha. But tell us what kombucha is for the noob, for somebody that's never really experienced it before, although, you know that I have I'm quite the kombucha fan because I'm gluten free
You're a correct Taylor. You are a kombucha King and connoisseur yourself. I know that by heart. So I'm glad you asked that question. So kombucha, like you said, you actually nailed it. It's fermented tea. It's actually the oldest fermented beverage on the planet. It's thousands of years old. The difference between hard and regular kombucha is the alcohol content. And how you get alcohol content is by fermenting the product with more sugar than needed

Well, it's not an easy answer, Taylor, but I'll do my best to sum it up for the listeners out there in that I identified myself as an alcoholic and wanted to clean up about a year a little over a year ago. And I obviously work in the alcohol industry. I work as a comedian, so I'm around it. So I wanted to take the challenge on and see if I can change my life for the better
