Once he was out of the team, our style shifted a little bit and defensively we definitely saw a drop in quality going into this new season. We had some absolutely tremendous acquisitions. A central midfielder in Declan Rice from West Ham for $105,000,000, kai Havertz from Chelsea Jurrien Timber, and most recently, David Raya, the goalkeeper from Brentford who's joining us for a season long loan. We now have the two best goalkeepers in the league
And when you look at the number of players they lost versus the number of players they brought in when Todd Bowley purchased the team, I think it reeks of something that kind of has an expiration date. I don't think they're going to be able to keep it up for as long as they want, even though they're signing players to all of these seven year contracts. Like I said, we will see. I pray for an even worse implosion this season

I mean, I cannot imagine another sport where you're on the eve of the regular season starting and all of a sudden you're a star player that has been a star player, one of the greats is no longer going to be on the team. It's kind of the rug being pulled out from underneath you, I would imagine. Unless they were expecting it. I think I read where he had another year on his contract, so I don't know whether they were expecting it or not
But look, teams don't get rid of their best player. It's just not something you see every day. And in the case of Kane, even though he is 30 years old and that's kind of at the higher end for the older end for a striker, he was absolutely banging in goals. And it's funny.
