The Tragedy of Macbeth ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

There are some filmmakers out there that really like to steal the show in that they are the sort of be all end all of everything and anything on set and I did not get that vibe at all from Joel Cohen here. This was a really tremendous effort of various types of artistry and how they blend together and create a very unique experience

Solid 4/5. Joel Coen with an impressive solo outing. A twisted trip through a hallucinogenic dreamscape.

Thanks so much for sharing this review. I had just added this film onto my Letterbox Watch list this past week, and I mean, I'll pretty much see anything by the Coen brothers together or alone, to be honest. But I was especially intrigued by this film once I saw the trailer, because that was exactly my first thought was it was so clear to me how there was some sort of German Expressionism influence in the aesthetic of the film

Or maybe going on tangents that I've experienced with some of the other German expressionist films that I've seen where things do get a little bit wacky and kooky. I think there are a few moments of that in this film, mostly having to do with the Witch. And I think that that's a fair and tasteful place to sort of experiment with the more bizarre side of German expressionism. I really overall enjoyed it
