Video Gaming, let’s talk about it…

article image placeholderUploaded by @lwatsonjr
And there's just quality time that I spend with my significant other, or at least in her mind, because once I get off that game, we spend time watching TV or vegging out in some other activity, sitting on the porch, watching the sun go down, listening to jazz music and doing nothing. So what is it about video games that unnerves some people? I'm curious. I want to get to the bottom of this thing, and hopefully you'll participate

What do you think about gaming adults? Do you perceive it as childish? Is your significant other/family/kids gamers?

I've always found that when it comes to people that hate on gaming, it's a simple they hate us because they ain't us. Most people I know are just jealous. I'm being serious. People can't understand understand gaming if they didn't grow up in it. Right? And so I'm 30 years old. I have literally been playing video games since I was like four years old. Right. It's something that has been an ever present part of my life

@Taylor: Get PWND! 😂

You know, Taylor, I really appreciate your response. It you know, I wanted to say that you said what I wanted to say, right? Which is you don't get it because you just don't get it. And and I've I've grown up much the same way. I'm 45. I remember the days of Atari. I'm dating myself, but I remember the days of the overtaking of the gaming industry by Nintendo and then it just sort of kept evolving from there

My dad bought the first PlayStation and me and him would play together on it all the time and play different things and it just kind of grew from there and it's just something that stuck with me, I think. Also, people look at gaming, like you said, about it not being productive and people always think you have to be productive, but everything you do doesn't have to be productive

When I was a teacher, I can't tell you how many of my students would point to certain video games as their favorite things on the planet. And something that brings that much joy to people. I mean, it's got to be worthwhile

Let me say, I have tried all my life to get into video gaming. I am pretty much the only female cousin in my age range. And it was like that for many years, almost a good decade before the next female cousin came along. So I had to play with my male cousins, which was usually playing football outside and inside on the game

@AO3

You are doing something meaningful to fill your bucket in a way that's authentic for you, so that you can then show up in other spaces around other people as your full best self. That brought that home for me. And I will judge gamers less now because of you. Thank you. Bye

At the end of the day, I will have to say I do low key admire gamers because you can navigate this remote in your hand with all of the different functions and features without having to look down at it. I guess in the same way that people are amazed that I can type on a keyboard and I know querying the layout of the keyboard well, and I can type upwards of 80 words per minute without looking at the keyboard

It. Hello. I love this topic and I sincerely love being able to share my opinion on this because I don't know how many people fall within this category. So I'm just going to share my honest opinion here. I am a non gamer. I will tell you right now, the one and only game I own and play is on my N 64, the original Mario Party. That is it. That is the extent of what I do

And I'm like, yeah, you hardcore, bro. But he inspired me to play The Last of US, too, on the hardest setting. And I'm like, yeah, man, I don't got what you got, bro. I don't have that. But, yeah, interesting. We still Ari in a day and age and time where gaming has a sort of stigma. I think there's a stigma to everything, though, man. But, yeah, that tweet
