But there are certain identities and specifically certain experiences that are shunned for being vulnerable, even when a person genuinely wants to be vulnerable. Before I give examples, I do want to just give a brief content warning of sexual assault. So I think of cases of court cases where women have used their vulnerability of an experience of sexual assault in order to bring justice to whomever did that to them? And in those cases it is very much so looked down upon
But for instance, as a Jew, I do not feel comfortable talking about a lot of things I experience as a Jew with just people in general. If I'm going to talk about antisemitism or my thoughts on Zionism or anti Zionism, then I would much rather do it in a group of people that I know and I'm comfortable around because there are certain things I could say that would get me a lot of hate
