Whenever you decide that someone is important to you, you are giving them a power over you. Just think about that giving someone else a power to affect how you feel at any given time. Now I'm not saying that we need to avoid avoid allowing others to be important to us, but I do believe we need to understand how dangerous our decision can be, especially when they involve giving someone else the power to disempower us
