Oh, you're single. Why do you have just one child? Oh, you're not married. I mean, literally, like, oh, you had a miscarriage. Literally, people can say that to your face. And my response is literally, you can question the questionnaire's question. When someone is asking such irritating questions, they are dominating. And when you flip that script and say to that person, why would you want to know that?

Hi Smitha. Nice points you brought in. Rather nice questions to respond back three probably I could add a couple of more. I think one could be is that very important to you to know? Are you sure you want to discuss about this? You know there are any options to kind of really ask the person direct. I think it's important to table those questions directly as a response so that the person knows your displeasure in a certain way

You. Absolutely. I totally agree to whatever you have mentioned. And I just wanted to add that I really don't find it very respectful when people who you know, whom you have just met very briefly and just try to get inquisitive about, you know, your life. And just because they are elder to you, they just take the liberty of asking very direct questions and they are not contributing anything to your life
But as you know how it is in India, at least, people do take it for granted that you can go ahead and ask such questions, which may be very intrusive and still not feel bad or think twice about it. And my approach, mostly in social situations when people just come on to me and ask me such questions, is to kind of try deflect them with humor. So in that way, I think I'm like Chandler in Friends, where humor is his defense mechanism

Hi. Yes, I think people really have a tendency to ask you these kind of questions, and some would even ask, you know, that okay, so how much do you earn and what is your salary? Yeah, they'll ask all weird kind of questions, and I think probably like, some of them don't really mean any harm. It's just the way they are, especially maybe some of the oldies
