I LOVE "Love on the Spectrum"!!

You should definitely check out the show if you have the time, if you like feeling delight, if you like feeling joy for other human beings. I think this is definitely it, because I catch myself gushing over how excited I am for a certain person to go on a date, or I catch myself being upset if the date didn't go well for them. Yeah. Definitely watch love on the spectrum

What you're describing as the innocence and the simplicity fits a portion of the autistic population, but not the entirety of it. Because while there's those aspects that you may envy or wish that you had in your life, there are also autistics that see the patterns, the systems, the things that many would like to either look aside from seeing or don't see at all

And what you said was 100% true, that we can find the greatest joy in the simplest things and yet great pain in other things as well. And I think that was perfectly stated in, I think, a way I've never really been able to form. So I just wanted to say thank you. And thank you for that validation. And thank you to you, too, Singh

Because now I can recognize it's not something I've failed at. It's just that I'm different, right? Not better or worse, just different. And yes, there are things that can be debilitating, but there's also those really cool, rich things

I wasn't trying to simplify autistic people at all. Like I said, I was just trying to share how the show made me feel. But thank you so much. I really appreciate it. You guys have a great day

And this show kind of does that in a way, but for an entire group of people, it just shows a glimpse of a tiny portion of that spectrum. And really, before knowing that I was autistic, I didn't know the depth and breadth of what that meant, what that looked like. And so I think even those little glimpses are meaningful or unimportant

So it's like, they knew, but they didn't want to but they didn't want to call my parents and be like, yeah, just through our observations, mimi, you might want to get her checked for autism. They didn't want to have to call my parents and say that because my parents would have been like, the fuck are you talking about? My child does not have autism. Get out of here

@miss.E (Not currently available on Canadian Netflix. ☹️)

Thank you. I did not know that that was on Netflix. The book has been on my to be read list. I just haven't gotten there yet. But I'm going to add the Netflix documentary. Thank you
