When a trip to a theme park, led me to think my mom was kinda 'famous'! 🎭 πŸ€ͺ

Not at all embarrassed, just proud. I also think I somehow thought that maybe I could gain some sort of a cool factor by association, which is kind of funny to me now, because as an adult, I look at situations where people take photos of themselves next to either famous destinations or next to celebrities, and then they share these photos everywhere. And I've often wondered about that. Why do we do this?

Do you know what I'm remembering? And it's kind of funny, again, thinking about seven degrees of Kevin Bacon, is that mom's real claim to fame, so to speak, was Cher. It wasn't Sonny Bono. He just happened to be the one in the movie. But she would always mention Cher. And I guess I got hyper focused on Sonny because he was the one in the movie. And I couldn't figure out why she kept bringing up Cher to be married

And that is another reason why it is so rare. So that photo is important to me because of the rarity and the exception of the experience. Have I taken pictures at monuments and stuff? I have a picture of the Mona Lisa, the real Mona Lisa from Paris. But the reason I like the picture is because I am standing behind this crowd of tourists and we are all raising up cameras and phones to take a picture of this little five x seven thing that you can't even get close to

@Isoellen

I don't know. It's still sort of strange to me. But at the same time, I can understand the reasons why you appreciate those photos. The one of the Mona Lisa, I've seen a couple like that, and it's really funny of just everyone wants to take the photo and also the size discrepancy and. Yeah. Anyway, it's fascinating. Do you know, I don't know if my mom intentionally tried to embarrass us

Christina. Oh, my gosh. This is beyond sweet. Thank you so much for sharing this. And it's fascinating how our young minds, or just any young mind works, and especially when it relates to our families. And it was just a really adorable memory. Thank you so much for sharing it

And I'm like, they're a couple. But it was just a chance meeting. And it was weird to me because what was happened was the face was so familiar to me. I was like, do I know you from somewhere? Have we been in school or something? My reaction to meeting the famous person was funnier to me than the, I'm like, why are you familiar? I can't place you. What wonderful stories today. Thank you so much for sharing with me

And I had to have Michael Jackson and wait, get charged up for the flash to charge. So it was a fun time, of course. And, yeah, I think a lot of people who have had a chance to take a selfie with a superstar would consider themselves famous. Have a good rest of your day, everybody

Oh, my goodness. I love this. I feel that in a sort of weird way. Like, I can't remember the exact scenarios, but when you're standing there taking that photo of Michael and your mom and having to wait for the flash to power up, it just reminded me of situations that I've been in a similar

Hey, Christina, this story's so funny. I love that you shared it. I think that's really cool for your mom, and that is fun. And I'm glad you told people because, you know, not many people even get to be an extra in a movie. That's such a unique and cool experience. My grandma is 84, and my sister, about, gosh, maybe ten years ago now, was a ballerina in the background in one of Matt LeBlanc's movies
@SeekingPlumb

@heidi

Somehow like this imagery of your grandmother at 84 telling everyone, I can just see it. On the other hand, I can only imagine how it must make you feel when this is something that she brings up all the time about your sister. I feel like it should be like a scene in a movie or something. It's sweet and endearing on one hand. On the other hand, it makes me cringe for you
