A letter to Amrita from the film "Thappad"
Thousands of domestic violence victims are still not able to recognize this but I hope after listening to your story they will build some courage to speak up for themselves. Even after listening to your inner voice you weren't happy and how could you be happy? After all you have invested your true emotions and your complete life building this relationship. You have dedicated so much of yourself to this that you didn't even realize how your favorite color yellow changed into blue which was Vikram's favorite

And I always questioned her. Why didn't you react? She said that we come from a society we had breaking up was not even an option. She said that who had the privilege to grow in a family full of women? I know how hard it is to be a woman and know how hard it is to be a female. And I just respect that

You know, I still remember when I was gonna watch this movie. A friend of mine asked me and I dragged my mother along. So poet random plantar mara and I'm movie. If I'm not wrong, the movie started with her daily routine. And from that very first scene only I got very emotional seeing how much a woman sacrifices for her family

Okay, I agree. Women sacrifice a lot. You know, like to be honest, anyone who's a housewife or a house husband sacrifices a lot. But usually in India we see that. But it is women who are housewives and it is a man who is a breadwinner. But the point is do sacrifice a lot

About that. You know, you should be the one who should stand up for yourself. The point is, as long as no matter how big of a body you are, no matter how big of a person you are, how strong of a person you are, at some point now you need someone who just hugs you, who just feels like home, who just makes sure that you are okay, who just gives you your strength back
