AMA on Podcasting!

article image placeholderUploaded by @Samriddhie_22
Hi everyone. I'm Samriddhie and I lead marketing and sales at an AR start up called Mirar. I have recently completed the first season of a podcast called Uninterrupted and this also happens to be my 1st 1st welcome. I'm so excited to be here and chat with you all. If you have any questions about podcasting, please drop them here and I will answer them for you

Podcasting, AMA

So with Uninterrupted, it was just a medium to sort of connect with that audience and bring out stories of women entrepreneurs from different walks of life and just to understand what their journey has looked like, what makes them who they are today, what were their daily struggles, what does the brand stand for, and so much more. So we started exploring a lot of different industries and we slowly narrowed it down to, say, retail to fashion and technology, which is also something that the brand does today

Okay, so the next question is, what is my podcasting pro kit and what is the equipment? I swear by. Okay. So to answer this very simply, I feel you can add as much grandeur as you want when it comes to equipment. Right? We all know technology is sort of rapidly evolving, but I feel it's okay to sort of start small. All you need is wired earphones and a smartphone. You can literally have an entire season recorded just with these two things

And I think to bring that out is also something that would make an episode successful. What really helps is one, of course, in depth study and a deep dive into who you're interviewing. If it's a conversational format, even a very quick phone call to just understand the person, understand their journey, understand where they're coming from and what their goals and missions look like. That really is something that brings out a connection and an unfiltered sort of conversation in the actual final recording

To answer the next question about a guest that I would love to have on the podcast. The answers are many. We closed down on season one, and with I think seasons going forward, we would sort of maintain that focus on retail, fashion, and technology, because in today's world, it is just imperative for every brand to be online

But the thing is that once you gradually embark on this journey is when you will understand a lot of things. You will get to know your audience better. You will get to understand what they're interested in. You will get to understand what are the other possibilities available in terms of equipment, in terms of platforms, in terms of marketing, or in terms of creating a brand, in terms of who you should get for your next episode or your next interview

do you need to be an expert of a niche to be a podcaster?

Hey Samriddhie, so good to hear you talk about your podcast and share all these great insights. So I had this question for you. Do you necessarily need to be an expert of a niche to start your own podcasts? I've heard a lot of people say that you will need to know your topic really well, even if you're not necessarily an expert. So is this something which is like a standard rule that I, a podcasts generally follow, or is it just sort of a podcasts myth?

So instead of giving smaller bits of more generic information to different audiences, you're setting the tone of the podcast. If you're talking about similar topics in general and also talking about or actually just having a more unified approach to the content you're doing, you should have a content strategy in place. You should invite people from the same business or the same genre so that even the audience is sort of tuning in and knowing that, okay, you know what?
