#TellYourStory | I experienced a culture shock when...

I experienced culture shock when I went to Canada. Everything from the way people spoke to the way people acted was different. Especially individualistic. And collectivistic cultures think completely differently. Individualistic cultures care more about personal goals and successes. Where collectivistic cultures are more about communal goals and achievements. There's more community focus in collectivistic cultures. I was also surprised when professors asked us to call them by their first name. I was surprised when everything that you do is your own responsibility

Hi, Sakura. You're right. When I came to the US for the first time to study, I had the same experience of you are on your own. You have to do everything on your own. It's up to you. And there are pros to it. There are cons to it
