With its super quirky cover that has you immediately intrigued, kainaz's memoir about a single, adventurous parsi girl looking for love, makes for a breezy read with anecdotes veering from the profane to the profound, with a bold take on love, lust and life. And it's a delight to have her join me today as we talk about her book. Hi, Kainaz!

You. Hi. Thank you so much for this lovely introduction. It's a pleasure to be here on your show and thank you so much for inviting me. So yes. So what inspired me to write this memoir, why I wrote it, there are several reasons. I mean, what is a memoir? It's like something that we, you know, we have a story to tell, things that have happened to us

2. On the culture of body shaming

Thank you for that, Kainaz. Your book sends a strong message against body shaming, which I feel is not discussed enough in social discourses. Every one of us has at one time or the other been shamed made to feel uncomfortable about our bodies and made to feel apologetic for being the way we are. So how can we, in this age of social media, encourage people to be unapologetically comfortable in one's own skin?

@Ramya

I don't think there's anything wrong. I for an eye, I do believe it in certain cases. And of course you should do that. Why not? Or you should say something back where you know for a fact that they won't utter a word after that. But you don't want to start a social media war. You don't care because you know how people can get pretty nasty on social media. Just block them. Block them

3. The SRK connection!!!

Thank you so much for that. How can I not ask you about your SRK connection and your fangirl moment with Sharu Khan on a flight? And while we are talking, Celebs, please do tell us about your personal experiences with Mr. Bachchan and Devan and Saheb who both find mention in your book

So of course with all my pinned up sari just beginning of the flight and all, I was super excited. Went to speak to him. I said, Mr. Khan, lovely to have you on board and you trader. So he was looking at me like, you trader? I mean, absolutely fumbling, right? I would fumble with him. Someone you like, you do that? So I said no. I mean that you left us for Jet Airways those times

And I think it kind of would be really amusing for others to read it as well and realize that no matter what you go in childhood and teenage years, you kind of get out of it and you actually make a life and able to do it pretty well. So I think that would probably another answering a first question to kind of encourage people that if I could do it, then anyone can

Oh my God. That was hilarious. I couldn't stop laughing for quite some time, and I think Sharu Khan would have hesitated quite a bit before stepping into his next flight, wondering if he would again bump into you. But jokes apart, I do wish that you get to meet him sometime up and close real soon and have a good laugh over this incident. And I really appreciate you sharing all this with us. I guess this actually brings me to my last question

@Ramya

But anyways, so yes, let's get back to the little serious stuff of our interviews talks. As you said, laughing at oneself is, I think, the only way that you can actually kind of even write about these things. Otherwise, if you really get yourself upset and worked up about everything and your past, you're never going to move ahead, right? So the first thing I think one needs to realize is that you can't let your past define you

@Ramya

You. Yeah. And of course there are times, there were times when I would read it all the time. So when you're writing, you don't write it once. You keep reading it, right? So you're again going through it and then you're editing it. But by the time it was done, I was quite done

And I'm sorry if I took more than what my time is, so you can cut off. But apart from that, this is really a wonderful show, a wonderful host. Ramya, I wish you all the wonderful things that come with this, and I hope that you continue to host it and interview many more authors and actually get all the juice from them like you got it out from Kaiju Swala, KAINA's Jussawalla. Anyways, best wishes to you and thanks a ton for having me
