What's a book that's been on your bookshelf unread for the longest time?

Nevertheless, this book on my shelf is a constant reminder of my intention to tackle this masterpiece someday. And perhaps this post today will inspire me to finally pick it up and explore its profound themes and complex narrative. So this book, I think, was a gift from a friend, so it will perhaps remain special for that reason. And this friend is an aspiring writer himself, and it's a reminder of the good old days when we made big plans to be published authors someday

The book that stayed unread in my shelves the longest...oh God 🙈

They have buy books for the heck of it, and they keep it in their shelves and they are like, I'll read it when I want to read it. Okay, I have a question, Ramya. Do you think it's a lot to do with the kind of things that are going on in your life? Sometimes if you're not in a good headspace, you don't want to read books about, say, crimes and murders and a character that is suffering a lot

Also, my reading preferences and priorities have constantly changed over time. And there have been several books that once appealed to me but no longer resonate. With Arundathiroi, it was slightly different. So, the reputation of a great author and their body of work can sometimes create expectations in the reader's mind. And after the god of small things, I had great hopes for the ministry of utmost happiness. But 50 60 plus pages in, I felt very disappointed

@Ramya Interesting how our bookshelves are, isn't it?

I'd rather read books that I am happy reading, that I am really happy, consuming, and life is too short. So I don't want to read or waste my time rather reading books that I know I will not enjoy in the end. So there is that as well. Arunduthiroi the funny thing is, no one ever gifted me any of her fiction books. People have always given me her nonfiction books

But I do have one here that I've taken a picture of. It's called the selection. It's not deep reading, it's fiction. And I think it was written during the time where a lot of the Dystopian novels were being turned into movies like Maze Runner and Hunger Games. And this, I guess, was a different take on it. It's about 35 girls who are going to be selected for the chance of a lifetime

So I just dropped their book and packed it and it was back to my shelf. I I tried reading it. I read about ten pages, and then I was like, oh, I know all this. What's going to happen now and then because of the spoilers I was given. So, yeah, I didn't read that book. Also, the dos, I didn't read it

Hi. So thank you for sharing your review, because I was really going to buy this book and all the other six books or whatever number of books there are, the whole of this series, the selection. So thank you so much. Because it looks like it's a very interesting book that I have my interest in Barbies and Princess right now, too, so yeah. Thank you so much
