When did you come out as straight?

article image placeholderHow Do You Know If You’re Gay, Straight, or Something In Between?
The Coming Out story, and my personal opinion is that I want to see more stories that aren't just about coming out that are about gay and queer and trans characters, just doing other things that people do, facing other struggles that people have to face. And so what would it be like if in the Coming Out genre? It wasn't just gay characters and trans characters and non binary and everyone else? But straight people had to come out too. So share your straight coming out story

Let's hear your story about when you knew you were straight & what that means to you. https://s.swell.life/SSSh9a4Pb9uTMRE

This is such a saucy topic to actually have a conversation about, but if I say anything, it would sound so narcissistic. So I'm going to just hear other people's stories, and I'm just going to sit there. I'm laughing right now because this is just so much fun to be a part of. But I just don't want to sound like a whole right here. People could just mistake me for that. So I don't want to do that

@roomi Love the thoughtfulness!

Hey Roomi. I appreciate you being so thoughtful and considerate, but I just want to put it out there that I would give you the benefit of the doubt and not presume that you are being an Ahole. And I would look forward to any irony and humor you may bring to sharing your story. So please feel free to share if you'd like to

@bowie - Bless you, Bowie!

Oh, my God. Boy, you're so sweet. I mean, so kind of you to say that, but I don't know. A lot of people might just think that I'm just coming off as someone is gloating about something. And I don't want to come off as that because I'm not that. And a lot of introspection and going to a teenage and early adolescent Sears just taught me one thing. That guy never be that guy

A scoop for @bowie & others.

So you see, people used to notice that people were like, Why is he with the girls all the time, but not actually in a relationship with any one of them. So just trying to put yourself in their shoes, perhaps in someone else's shoes, I guess from the outlook, it's absolutely fine to have female friends, but people would be like, Is he gay? Is this guy actually straight or not?

@bowie thanks for starting this conversation. Quote from Dads documentary.

And now I'm trying to raise a human as kindly and welcoming as humanly possible when it comes to things like this projection is a real problem. And this reminds me of a quote that I saw Will Smith say in the Apple TV plus documentary titled that. And it goes like this quote, A gardener understands how to nurture the seeds through good weather, through bad weather. A gardener doesn't want that seed to become anything other than what is designed to become

@ivanf - 🙏🏼 Gracias!

That is actually one of the most inspirational motivational course that I've come across. I'm really sorry. I'm feeling really sorry for myself because I know I had a relationship with my father and what could have been thinking about the possibilities. But I don't plan on getting married. So there's that. So if I do and if I have a child, I'll make sure I remember this code. Thank you so much for sharing it with us. Appreciate it

@ivanf powerful analogy

Yvonne, that was a powerful analogy about seeds and parenting. I know you mentioned father and dad and that your father is a master gardener. But I'd also like to bring it up to the partner. The mom. I know this is when did you come out? Thing. So if there's a second dad or if there is a mom or if there's two moms. Either way, a parent is essentially a master gardener. Beautiful, phenomenal and powerful analogy. Thank you for sharing that

@bookishpodcast I whole heartily agree. It applies equally to any parent.

Hi, Shannon, I could not agree more. I think the quote goes like that because he kept it in the context of the documentary in which he edit. And that is the Apple TV plus documentary titled that I think it's such a powerful quote. And I agree it applies to any parent. And I just wanted to clarify that I as well. I do not think it only applies to that. I just merely wanted to strictly quote Will Smith, thank you

A continuous story for some

I still appreciate this invitation to everybody, and I don't think it's also a black and white conversation in the sense that excuse me, I know a few people much younger than me who are really fluid, and I think they're going to spend their lives talking about their sexuality comfortably because I think we're bringing a world up where we're having these conversations more. But I think that discovering your queerness or your straight and across the spectrum for some people is a constant story
