Stop Believing You're More Important Then You Really Are
Hello. Been a while, been a minute. Wanted to do a swell. I have a thought on my mind. I've sort of recomposed this swell numerous times because I want it to be right and correct. So I heard something on the news the other day and this was that there's a group of Native Americans who are outraged at the fact that the NFL team, the Washington Commanders, changed their name to their new name from their former name
It's mental engineering on the public at large to see what so when these billionaires get together, they say, so what is acceptable? What is not acceptable for us to push on the public? He's talked about a book written by one of my favorite books, especially when I was in high school called A Brave New World by Adox Huxley, which to me is not just the writer back

Now, if you want to talk about from this day moving forward, what team names look like, what considerations are taken into account when creating a statue for a public campus or any building or whatever, then yes, but anything from the past is part of the past. It's part of the history. And history tells us where we've come from and is a good predictor and an indicator of where we are going or what things we can modify so that we don't go backwards

Hey, JL, thank you for your response. I listened to it last night. I liked it, but for whatever reason, the light didn't show up. So I liked it again this morning. And I meant to reply last night. I just didn't get the time. So one of the main points that you're making is history. You definitely don't want to erase history

You spoke about Mexican Americans, latino people. I'm curious if you are part of any of those communities. I can tell you that my guess is that you are not. I am queer. I'm a lesbian. I understand the differences of opinion within our community about pronouns, but I understand a lot more nuance around them than you seem to. And on a very basic level, for example, gender is not sexuality. Those things are not connected

In fact, if you have more to bring to the table, I am open to listening. My core message in regard to my Swell is that if you are in a marginalized group, there should be consideration for other marginalized groups, and therefore maybe an idea that one's belief is not more important than someone else's who is in a marginalized group. Eagerly waiting your response, professor. 42 out

One of the things that you mentioned was that you were concerned that people are being silenced within these marginalized groups, that their voices are not being heard. But clearly you heard about the group that is contesting the name change for the Washington Commanders. You heard about that. That group is not being silenced. They may not be getting their way, but they are not being silenced
