So the reason why I'm asking this is I started thinking the other day that the major boom or the time frame of what text messaging was was between 2005 and I would say 2015. Now back in 2000, I would say six or seven I do believe is when messenger started coming out. Like Facebook always had a means of communication via messaging. But I do believe it was around that time frame which messaging started to break off and separate from Facebook as a means of communication

And I do think that is kind of strange that that's what we do now but I also get some aspects of that of just not really knowing them and just being like why would I give you my phone number type of stuff? But I feel like even yeah I don't know. I think texting is definitely different now that it's on more social media apps and it's primarily used on those now

Professor 42 Nice question. I don't know. I don't think it is dead. I use it a lot, but that could just be me. I typically, you know, I have to talk to parents of my kids, friends and so on. I text them. I don't email. We are not connected on any social media app that's purely texting. So texting serves a big purpose in my daily life. But I don't know how it is for everybody else
I don't think Texting is dead, but I definitely think that with social media and with all these other apps that like texting goes elsewhere. I still get text messages in my eyes. I messages on my iPhone, but I also get text messages coming from these other social media apps
