Onlyfans

article image placeholderUploaded by @Professor42
This well is about sites like only fans and other sites which promote the selling of photos and videos. Side Note for anybody that isn't aware, only fans started out as a site for musicians, artists, athletes, social influencers, etc. And even though it is associated with the adult industry, it is still very much a widespread platform for many other professions in other areas

Have an open mind. This swell is clean, PG and does not incite hate. Please keep it that way your opinion is valued

I think that when we look at the outrage to a site like only fans, really, it's almost impossible to ignore where most of that's coming from. And that is a fear or disdain, whether that is moral or religious for the sex industry, that's really I think what we're talking about here and when you think about only fans

And I'm assuming that you saw this, but just recently, for those that are listening and have not followed this story, only fans announced that they were basically going to ban sexual content from their platform, and there was such wide spread outrage both from fans of the platform and also creators on the platform that they ended up reversing their decision fairly quickly

@Taylor writers (J.K Rowling) ,Musicians, Mobile game content producers

I'm going to present a question to you. How do you think the general population would feel if somebody like JK Rowling decided they were going to produce an entire Harry Potter book on only fans? Do you think that people who really enjoy Harry Potter are going to say no because it's on that platform. I'm not going to go to it. I'm not going to read it, and I'm going to go against J. K. Rally. My opinion is probably not

So it's been very difficult for a lot of people. I do just want to point out at this stage that, as you've rightly said that only fans is the platform for people to share their art in all sorts of different ways and for people to support them to do so. I actually didn't know this until all of the recent happened when they said that they were going to continue without basically without sex workers, because, as you said, only fans has largely been

And I personally have known some people who do not only fans, but they have other platforms that actually have one that's female created. So it's for women. It's made by women, and it's four women. So it actually is a bit different than only fans itself

Three points I'd like to mention @Professor42

Whereas the pornographic industry really kind of paved the way for people to make money on the Internet, that might be going a step too far, but do not diminish their role in commerce on the Internet. And then the third and major point that I want to make is that where is this pressure coming from? And I don't think anybody has mentioned this yet

And I too indeed read the articles that were circulating around and noticed that a lot of the backlash was coming from the payment processors, Visa and Mastercard. A lot of people just assumed and even myself I did assume that it was only fans. They themselves. But no, it was the Professor Visa Mastercard. They didn't like the Association of their cards being used in such a manner, which I'm not even sure why it relates to them, because really, it's not their money

Im an Adult Creator. Just my thoughts in reply to you. Thanks for putting your thoughts iut there!

I think if you look more heavily at it, then platforms like this will ultimately start breaking the p*** industry, which is already having a really tough time, because you'll find that the new generations that are coming through quite comfortable to take a photo in a bikini and post on Instagram. Like you said, those platforms are okay with that. They're not okay with nudity, but they are okay with tasters

It's just more so the social aspect of it, which is again, an odd thing because we have social media platforms that are intended for socializing. But I find that the majority of people don't socialize. Most people don't even want to have a casual conversation. Most people just from with my friends and family, they just post like memes and gifts and stuff like that. And really, social media is going I don't know, it's going in a different direction
