My perspective on Uniform Civil Code in India
My preference on UCC is that it would promote gender equality. By eliminating discriminatory practices prevalent in personal laws governed by different religious traditions, it could ensure equal rights and opportunities for women across all communities. Advocates of UCC believe that it alliance with the principle of secularism set out in the indian constitution by treating all citizens equally under the law regardless of their religious affiliations
