Mental Monday’s: Hope misplaced

article image placeholderUploaded by @PKBriggs
And also, I want to add that I think hope can be blinding too, right? Because it really is a self thing. So it's what you want to see. And sometimes if you're not careful, you're not seeing the whole picture. You're only seeing what you want or the parts of the picture that you want. It's like a fragmented painting. You're just focusing on the piece that you want to focus on, but there's a whole picture that you're missing

PK PK PK. I like starting my mornings with you. I really do. Interesting delineation between hope that's beautiful and keeps us buoyant and hope that drags us down to old beliefs complicated. And I think my gut is that there's an inventory I would take, I guess, of what I'm hopeful for and making sure that none of that is kind of ancient stuff and being aware of that

And you literally picture yourself and if you're say, doing it for three or four different positions at one time because you're really Carey searching, you'll have your heart set on saying, if this one offers it to me, this would be my dream position. And then of course, that's the one that does not choose you. And then you're like, well, that's okay, this was my second choice. And then your second choice doesn't choose you

Hi. PK. This is JL. I enjoyed this. Well about hope and more specifically misplaced hope in how for some, it could lead to them holding on unnecessarily. And and it brings the question to mind what could be for someone if someone were to write a book or how to guide? What could be the signs to not have hope and to let go? Or the science to just simply let go?

@Her_Sisu Intuition, discernment and safety.

And I think instinctively, right, intuitively back to this gut piece, we know, right? But I guess that's when the deeper discernment. I think you put up your question of your faith and you mentioned someone said something about safety, whatever. The point is where you no longer feel safe. And then for me, I think the main thing and what I've learned is that acknowledging it, because we tell ourselves a lot of stories, right? And I think that's the thing

@countryswell Nothing is wasted.

It talks about how things aren't wasted. And I find in particularly the times when you do see or realize your hope is misplaced, that scripture or that kind of thinking, and you alluded to it, and you just used the word spiritual. And I think we're talking about the same things, that things also prepare you, right? So nothing is wasted

@DBPardes Hope can be a stomachache 😏

Deborah. Deborah, thank you so much, my friend and my family. I appreciate you. Always. Always. And you want something. You said to me just really, like, literally hit me in the gut. It it struck me because, like, over indulgence, right? Something is good until you've had too much of it, right? Or it no longer makes sense

@PKBriggs

I think that feeling of risk is just my own personal worry and bias because I do write my own poetry. So I think there's always that little bit of fear that people might not like it or something. So I'm so glad that you shared your personal affiliation and excitement for poetry at that time in your life. Sorry, puppy. She's nudging me because she thinks I have lunch leftover. So if you hear her in the background begging. But yeah
