Mental Monday’s: Can You Remember?

article image placeholderUploaded by @PKBriggs
It's a quote by a guy named Charles Bukowski, and I've never heard of him, actually. But it really sort of triggers the wrong word. But it prompted me to do this well and make me think deeply, and I'm going to share with you and maybe you'll think deeply as well. So here we go. You might hear a little tapping because I have to click back to it. And it is

Pk. I don't think I can remember who I was back then. But you made me remember that. Somewhere in my basement I have a VHS cassette tape from 1990. I was one year out of College, and I recorded a monologue, a letter to myself that I told myself to watch it in the year 2000, a letter from my younger self to my older self. And by the time I got to 2000, my life had changed enough that I did not want to watch it then

So I think yes, thank God. Right. The Grace of getting older, we become self aware and we can discern and turn it off like you said, or turn it down, but it's still there and then sometimes it still creeps in. I think when we have friends, friendships and relationships, those are so close that we still get influenced. Yeah. Thank you for responding to this. Well. And I hope you are well

a shamans raw reflection in their study. 🙏🏽💭🤓♓️

When we think about before, the conditioning and the indoctrinating and domesticating, we think of just pure, innocent curiosity. And as liberating as that sounds, it's also scary because we do recall being naive and being hurt by the world because we express such naivety. So that very childlike naivety before indoctrination is a version of us that just doesn't know better because it's never been or doesn't recall being in contact with a human society that has their own human rules

Yeah, definitely an intriguing sort of quote by this Bukowski character. I don't know about him either. And it will be intended to see or hear more of his quotes and kind of see what he is into. So thank you for that introduction, and I hope you have a great rest of your week

Shaman, my friend and family, thank you for responding to this thought exercise, as you so aptly put it. Yeah. It is just interesting to think about it. Right. Just to become aware. Right. Because I don't know that until I saw that prompt on Dr. Reyes'page that I can ever consider this. And then to consider it is kind of like what you were talking through, this process of all these knowns, these assumes, these inherited things

And I think that's so important that you said that and that you came to that conclusion. Things are happening to us, so we can choose what it means, like as far as healing or mental or health and then even getting out that relationship, like those are some huge things that you did for yourself. So you're a very strong person. Thank you for sharing that. And as Aaron says, sometimes hopefully sharing things here as well
