I wanted to start the highlighting of this week with this post on football season because we are in that period of kind of a quiet time in sports and there really wasn't a lot of sports to be discussed this week, which was a prime time to bring up. Sticking on the theme of football, college football. Curtis enlightens us on some history with marching bands here on this post. If you are a fan of college football, I cannot stress strongly enough to go check this one out. Curtis is our resident expert on all things marching bands and brings a little bit of history, things that I was not aware of. And if you are a fan of college football, you know that it the bands and college football really go hand in hand

Angel Reese was back in the news this week after accepting an award at the SPS and user trudy Perkins here calls out the coverage, especially by MSN of Angel Reese here, and really brings into question how the media covers black and female athletes. If you do not believe that miniature golf is a sport, then you haven't played with me yet. I absolutely love miniature golf. In fact, if I just see a miniature golf course, the little kid in me just gets so excited. I absolutely love it. And so I was just so enamored with Bob Dennis'post here on the origins of mini golf. Bob Dennis is a great follow. Be sure to follow all that he does

Normally, I would never pick something that I actually posted myself, but in this case, Spence and Crawford is just such a major sporting event. It's a major boxing event that I had to post this because I really would love to know what your thoughts are about this fight. And if you have no opinion and you really don't care about this fight, I'd love to know that too. Because this is the most major sporting or boxing event in the past 510 years in boxing
That tends to not really happen, especially with the more high profile players, just because you're essentially selling to a direct rival. But this week, Arsenal signed England midfielder Declan Rice from West Ham for a record fee for both Arsenal and a British player being sold between two clubs. 105,000,000 pounds. Pretty unbelievable stuff. It should also be mentioned that Declan Rice is undoubtedly going to be the next England captain. So this was a big bit of news in the soccer world
