Back in September, there was a weight loss group that set goals for themselves and kept each other motivated. Checking in on a weekly basis. I wanted to start a new one out for 2021 and let you know what my goals are and would encourage anybody, whether it's a weight loss goal, whether it's a food eating goal, whatever goals that you have in the new year, I encourage you to join in here and as well check in either on a weekly biweekly basis

So I've been really struggling with getting back to where I was after I had surgery in September and so I would really like to be able to run a five K without stopping by the end of March. I feel like that's a very reasonable goal to get back to where I was and I'm really excited about showing up every day and trying to get there. So I will also weigh in on Mondays and try to remember to check in here and looking forward to being on this journey with you

It really is just about eating clean, and they want you to stay away from a few foods that can inflame you. They also want you to stay away from caffeine because it inhibits the weight loss process or the detoxifying process. And then they want you to stay away from dairy, from gluten, corn, peanuts, anything that's likely to inflame. And they have a list of things that you can and can't eat

So I kind of look at this as being down one and a half pounds on the week, which I think is just more realistic and more manageable. Now, as a part of this how I did this one, I started detoxing. I went on that detox kit that I have pictured here from Lifetime Fitness and what that does is it really just tries to clean the toxins out of your system while not introducing any new toxins. So you're eating clean

Yeah, I'm going to check it out and I'll let you know how it goes. I have been avoiding the scale because I'm scared, which is bad. I don't think doing the 90 day challenge is going to work if I keep avoiding it. So I promised myself that I'm going to weigh myself tomorrow morning, so I have an idea of where I'm starting

As far as foods being reintroduced, it's not going to change that much on meals, although I'll be able to order some Thai food or Indian food from my local restaurants, which I love, which I haven't been doing. So I'll mix that in and try to keep that in the same way that I do with coffee. You get caught in these ruts of just continuing to order out, order out. And I'm going to keep that to a minimum

I'm just over the moon on this and I've already hit my goal of where I wanted to be for the month and I set a new goal and I'm only a pound away from that. So I'm just going to have to keep on resetting these goals and getting to where I want to be. But just fabulous news and I just can't emphasize enough how much this detoxification has really helped me along. So it was a long two weeks

I'm slowly, steadily bringing those back up and I'm going for a stretch goal. But I'm feeling really great about where I'm at and I just can't speak highly enough with the detox program that set this off. So it was really great sticking with it. The pounds are coming off and now it's going the hard part. Here's the last mile here

And so I switched over to decaf and I'm slowly kind of reducing my caffeine intake and also some other things so I can be prepared for the detox and am switching over to definitely no gluten and then maybe just a little bit of dairy. And then I want to try to do this February, a totally plant based diet to see if that helps with any of the kind of chronic pain and inflammation I've been dealing with. I think it will help

Yeah, buoy. One thing I do want to mention is that I've been at this since September. Really? In September 1 or so. I really made a concentrated effort to lose weight weight, and it didn't come off immediately. And that's the way when I make a decision to get either weight gain or weight loss to me always seems to be like I think of it as a big ocean liner. Once it's on its way, it seems to really kind of take off

Not much to report this week. I weighed in and still down £8. So on the week it was a wash, no gain, no loss. So still down £8 overall since I started and I'm pretty pleased with that

I'm feeling good, but also a little like, man, it's so easy to gain the weight like it's sort of shocking how easy it is, but I'm feeling really good that I'm still staying active despite winter and all of that. So I just wanted to give a brief check in and your check ins were really encouraging for me to thank you, and it looks forward to checking in again next week

And so I honestly do not think that weight is necessarily the end all to be all that you should be measuring against. If you're closer and you're feeling good about yourself, you're feeling good, then what else really matters
