The people who are going to do you the most harm often are the people who approach you in a very friendly way and are basically promising grandiose things and promising you that everything's going to be okay if you just let them control things. Right. So I'd say the brilliance of sidious largely comes from the amount of people that he manipulated and the amount of planning that it took him to execute everything that he did to do everything that he did in Star wars. Right?
Like you say, so often we think of villains or scary things as being things that look scary, right. Or menacing in one way or another. And while he certainly, I think, gets to that point later on in the series, he is not the terrifying person that we know because of his appearance. He is that because of his action.
