Research shows that beyond a certain number of hours, employees actually don't produce anything more. But the impact to the health increases dramatically. Alcoholics and those who struggle to practice selfcare find themselves at higher risk for burnout, fatigue, and stress related health issues. Poor work life balance can have a far bigger impact than just skipping the gym. One study found that the risk of stroke is higher in people who work more than 55 hours a week
