Do you take up space?
After I if you'll bear with me for a moment, I wrote a piece on this and I'm just going to touch on it in the allotted five minutes that I have. Feel free to please share feedback on your thoughts on this as well. Every time I show up somewhere, I take up space. Every time I speak in a room, I take up space. Every time I write something and share my thoughts, I take up space

But at this point in my life, the way I see it, when we take up space in our very existence, whenever a baby is born, it is taking up space. I'm not just saying it in a physical sense, but also that it's just its existence impacts so many people the same way as us. With individuals, I don't think we necessarily have to say or do anything to take up space. And that is perfectly fine

When you're in space, you're in that moment. So, wow, this was beautiful. I can't even really say anything. I try to walk in every room as myself, but as an opportunity to learn and to grow. But if it's my moment to own, I own it. I don't shy away from it. I make connections, I make memories. I make myself feel. And I want to include, not exclude people. So this was beautiful

But it creates a sort of level of awareness and intention that can have an overall impact for how you intend to occupy space. So thank you for this. It gives me something to consider as I go about my days. Thank you
Hello. Thank you, Shayla, for responding to my swell cast. I want to say first and foremost, I really appreciate how, based on what I'm hearing, you know, where you are as far as not having that level of over self consciousness or anything like that
Because the thing is, after that moment passes, it's nice to reflect later on in time down the line on how you were present with whoever was there and whatever was taking place in the space that was being taken up and why that's important to you and what it did for you in that moment. Because there are moments that we go through where we need that positive or nostalgic reflection to keep us going, to keep us here, to keep us present

I paid my money, paid my ticket for it, and I was going to make the most of it. Didn't make noise there or anything. Came in, did my thing, heard all the talks and lectures and all of those things, attended the events and I got out of there

And that's the role that you take on as a father is providing space, but also taking up that space for them to join in with you in that relationship. Also, your platform that you've built with the Voice on here and online, you do take a space. You have a very strong presence, and you're able to go about creating your messages to all of us

And a portion of the documentary focused on the difference between nonmelonated female leaders and people with black and brown skin as female leaders and how just based on certain ideologies that black and brown people are raised with in terms of like. You shrink yourself around others and make sure you look the part and make sure you know all of the things and you do all of the things and you don't ever question your boss. What they say is correct
And it's like, I have to go back and be like, who told me not to do that? Who told me currently, no one said that currently, but it's been inherently believed. Don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't. And it's like, well, no one's actually saying that. That's just an invisible rule

And one of the things that, like I said, I'm consciously thinking of it now because you brought it up, but with the things that the best thing I can do right now is attribute everything that I'm hearing from people to myself because I'm growing. And I'm very intentional about my growth process right now. So for me, with all these things that I'm doing, I'm definitely taking up space
