Hi there. Wow. I really love the ending to the story. It's really satisfying, actually. Gives me a lot to think about. My interpretation of it is that Sylvie leaves because she was looking for some kind of connection from him. And him revealing the trick is symbolic of that he trusts her, that he's letting her in. And when she realizes that's not going to happen, then she just disappears. She walks away
