vengeance & justice

article image placeholderUploaded by @OmegaStrange
It's about punishing those who inflict har or society or who breaks the law, right? Whoever breaks the law, they deserve to be punished. But is there a difference? Is it really vengeance that we inflict on criminals? If you look at what punishment means, right, if you look at the definition of punishment, the infliction or imposition as a penalty, as retribution for an offense. Now, if we look at what retribution means, okay, let's look at what retribution means, okay?

But more often than not, you can come across cases where authorities and their bid of vengeance to lock up evildoers can put sometimes the innocent parties in a cell in the name of justice which will take a b**** of a time to upturn said verdict. Because when you hear that innocent man behind bars says he's innocent you will hear a choir of others that will say they are innocent. Innocent of what? Do we know what we're going to do in ten years?

So if we did have the technology to read the future of criminal activities, if we can read the future of any criminal activity that will take place somewhere in the near future, how do we go about that? Like, would it still be justice or I don't know. It'll be something else, right? I guess. I don't know. Do you see it as still being justice? Like, would it still be justice if you can stop a crime from happening 1020 years from now?
