Are some double standards needed?

article image placeholderUploaded by @OmegaStrange
And we have a lot of double standards, right? So are there double standards that should change, that should evolve? Should we just get rid of double standards altogether, or are there pros and cons to having these double standards? Another example, it is not cool for women to go out there and explore sexually with other men. Now, with other women, yeah, it's okay

That's interesting, because one would wonder, why would it be standards at all? And that we have come to certain standards of ways of thinking. Why is it then considered a double standards? And I guess the examples you gave were obvious enough, as you said, with you growing up, your stepdad told you, hey, if you're going to have sex, here's a condom

Yeah, I'm curious, but yeah, this whole thing about boys being more responsible than girls, because most of the time, it's the 14 year old girl I'm that is raising the child, not the 14 year old boy just because he's not matured and he doesn't want to be involved like that. But yeah. Thanks again for replying to the swell. Peace

So to your question, would I be comfortable with my sons or daughters bringing person they like home? That would all depend. I would have to talk with that person's parents and we would have to talk together and have an understanding exactly of what these two are or aren't. And yeah, as long as there's established communication, that would be fine. Of course there would be a time they would have to go home and things of that nature

I mean, if we zoom in from the national level to a group of 50 men and 50 women and tell the women you need to have fewer partners to be perceived well within society and men you need to have more partners to be perceived well within society. There is no way that that works. There's always a losing group and a shaming and a shunning by society

Of course, I'm very biased from my perspective of being a woman and how these narratives have affected not only how I live, but how then men live and interact with me. And I don't like these things. I would want to challenge then the very ideas of what society deems these things. Like, why can't we just say this is what it is to be human?

You know, a man can jog up and down the street without no shirt. They can play basketball with no shirt topless. But for women, you all have to wear a bra. But not just a bra, but some form of some form of clothing that can cover up the chess area. So if you look at some of these indigenous cultures, like in South America, like the amazons, it's normal, it's almost equal

And that sounds like a strong word, but it's really frightening. I've locked down a lot of my profiles. They're no longer open anymore, and I limit who I interact with. And so it's like, not only do I have to be careful of how I move through the world, but also more so online as well. And the anger, the hatred. I spoke to somebody not long ago who was saying that now we're talking old school. Old school
