Hi, Rasika, and welcome to my swellcast. To begin with, I would like to know you've dabbled a number of professions and wedding planning came to you by chance. Can you share with us how this new profession happened to
@Rasika09

@Book_gobbler

And when I was working with Archie's and I was making cards for them at that time, I wanted to visualize, I wanted to see my designs on a large platform coming to life, and that was not possible on a card of five inches by six inches or seven inches. So I just needed to make it big, larger than life, and I didn't know how it's going to happen. And yes, then one fine day, I just opened up a flower shop

Ah, that's absolutely amazing. Because one thing I've learned in my life is that if it's meant to be, it'll happen some or the other day. You will take different paths, but you'll land on the path where you're meant to be. So a wedding planning is no joke. How do you juggle people's expectations in demanding situations and yet ensure that the ceremony is outstanding?
@Rasika09

@Book_gobbler

You. Yeah. So juggling people's expectations, because, believe me, if there are four people in the family, there are four different demands, four different viewpoints and few and four different expectations from us. And we have to find the one common point between all four of them and then make that large. It's very difficult. Sometimes it just doesn't work out. The father wants it all blue, but the son wants it all pastel

That's really one difficult task. So, coming to the great Indian Tamasha, what made you write this book? That's my first question. And with your first wedding plan, what have you learned and how has it helped you to improve yourself? And do we see all of these life lessons embedded in the book?
@Rasika09

@Book_gobbler

I just felt relieved, and I was not angry anymore, and I was fine, and I just went to bed and slept. And that's how one chapter went to another, to another, to another and started just writing. And my sister really encouraged me to write a lot. So that's how it happened. Now, second part of your question what have I learned and how has it helped me to improve myself? I've learned so much

While you were narrating it, there was this phrase that kept popping in my mind, which is like the 50 shades of human emotions during wedding shenanigans. And I think that's kind of apt also. So you continue to interact with people coming from different walks of life. Can you tell us one incident that has left quite an impact on you and which is Also So made it to the book?
@Rasika09

@Book_gobbler

Amazingly put by you. Yes. There is one very nice incident, I mean, a wedding and a story which has made it to the book, which left a very good lasting impact on me when I saw the most beautiful side of a human being. And that chapter is number six, mundup of Miracle. I mean, this bride, if you read that story, it was a total natural disaster. Her wedding was totally washed away

So amazingly narrated this incident that it gave me goosebumps. And this is what I learned, that even in darkness, you ought to choose light. And I think this is going to stay with me. So the book has a collection of 22 witty tales. It's a beautiful collection. I saw the COVID also. So I would like to know, how did you come up with the design for the COVID Have you done it yourself because you are a visual artist?
@Rasika09

@Book_gobbler

I mean, I told her father that what is going to happen? You're just going to get her married to somebody who has a much bigger house, much longer cars. But what is she going to do over there? What about her? She's never going to be happy. I don't know. He just understood. And it just happened that finally she went home with

Talking to you about these stories is just making me want to pick up the book and read it. And also the COVID is just screaming, come pick me up. It's so beautifully done. And we see how much work has gone into it. So which inspirational book or books would you recommend for event planners or entrepreneurs?
@Rasika09

@Book_gobbler

I could see the person and I could understand oh my God, this guy is going to run away with my money. So that is one thing that you will learn from my book. Another book that I really want you to learn read would be Siddharth by Herman Hees. Because I'll tell you why it's totally off the topic. But like I said that to win in life you have to be in a Buddha state of mind. And how do you get into a Buddha state of mind?

Do we get to see another book, maybe a part two of the Great Indian Tamasha from your end and from the Great Indian Tamasha, what kind of societal impression can the readers gather?
@Rasika09

@Book_gobbler

You will see the good, the bad and the ugly all together in one book. It's not that out of 8000 weddings, if we have done, there are just a handful of people who are worth writing about and telling about the incidents that I've shared and some of them are the incidents which I just had to write because it might just benefit others. So that's how these chapters were chosen and you will get to know about the different faces of human beings like I already discussed

Weddings are a dream come true. And you have made the dream come true for over 8000 people. And that's truly amazing. And it has to be spoken about. And who would have thought wedding planning can be such a mammoth of a task? Thank you, Rasika, for this wonderful conversation and introducing us to your book, The Great India Tamasha. I'm sure it's going to up a lot of attention. And my best wishes for the book
@Rasika09
