Dance with me, inspired by "homage to my hips" by Lucille Clifton

article image placeholderUploaded by @nourishyou
Dance with me only if you know the night and feel this pulse. So this poem was inspired by Lucille Clifton's piece called Homage to My Hips. She's another new to me poet, recommended by an esteemed poet poet on instagram. And I'm really digging this poet, Lucille Clifton. This piece kind of lifted me out of a bit of a poetic slump of late. Nothing better than moving to get your vava room back. But

I love this. Lucid Clifton is one of my absolute favorites. One of my favorite poems by her is called We Are Running. I go back to that piece a lot. I love the collection Good Woman by Lucia Clifton as well. Whenever I'm feeling that poetic slump that you mentioned, I can revisit that word again. Feel like I'm returning to myself. Still. Thank you for sharing this
