Is there too much diversity in The Eternals?

article image placeholderUploaded by @NLOFrank
What I will say about it is that I actually genuinely really enjoyed it really would recommend if you are enjoying the Marvel series. I think it's better than some other ones. So I do recommend and I also do apologize that I live near a busy road and it's bomb finite tonight. It's incredibly busy in regards to the representation. So one of the main issues that people have brought up, which are issues for them

#LGBTQIA #gender #diversity #theeternals

More?!!

But I think diversity is actually more normal than what our conception of normality is because even if you just bring in the idea of being disabled or being whether ableism and everything, that the majority of people have some kind of silent or invisible illness, whether it's physical or mental, and then you bring in other issues of diversity, the idea of sexuality

They got us programmed to search for the acceptable ‘normal’ @NLOFrank

You go into a classroom, you go into a supermarket, you go into a restaurant, you go anywhere, and you see people in every tick box to use to send the words that we're using. And it's just life, right? But we see it in a film because we have been trained or programmed to like a certain thing

@lissahoop love this turning of the question

You made some really interesting points, and I actually think I might actually do that the next time I see somebody attacking this film because of too much representation and say, turn around and using a question of do you think there's too many white people in this film or too many straight people are too many able body people? Because I think that's the real question we should be asking

Thanks @PKBriggs

And I can be in a room with people and see so much diversity that that's not normal to me. But then it's not normal to see that representation on films. And I actually watched The Eternals and thought I honestly don't get the issues because I think one of the things that people are complaining about or have been putting on these negative reviews is the fact that people you're just shoving it down our throats, you're just shoving LGBTQIA down our throats

@NLOFrank Thank you as always!

And one of the other swells that people are comfortable with the amount of freedom that they want to give you. You LGBT people. You guys exist. But we don't want to see you doing gay stuff, which aka is just life, not gay stuff, just life. But anyway, I got to figure out how I can see the Eternals see what you're talking about, because literally it's probably nothing. And then everyone's an uproar because it's just outside of our programming. Right

@PKBriggs

I think you'll be probably disappointed if you do get to see it because the hype of it the reviews and these reviews, a lot of them are from people who have taken to put reviews up to bring the ratings down before the film even came out. So a lot of these reviews are based on people knowing that there's a queer representation in the film but actually haven't seen the film

Curb Your Enthusiasm example

But we couldn't be able to do that if it wasn't in there in the first place. So that's what I was thinking. Also, if you haven't seen the first episode of I think it's the first or the second episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm that just came out

@lissahoop

But by Star Trek writing that into the storyline all those years ago, it's starting up a process for us to have more stronger. I mean, well, Hero is an amazing character for all sorts of reasons, not only for that, but, you know, a black female character in a very strong and powerful role compared to how black females are usually portrayed or have been before her time. And now we are seeing that much more in our media. So we have to start somewhere

@NLOFrank E.R. Fightmaster Link: https://bit.ly/31yGvbb

It's been very inclusive in terms of race and ethnicities. So that is interesting. So anyway, it made me think about that. And I think I'm going to write a swell about that. Interestingly. I need to find this article about the non binary actor Er Fightmaster. That is the first one in Greece Anatomy. They were originally in Shrill, and they came out as non binary in the process of filming in that

Hi Melissa. Thank you for sharing this link. I already did. Now I have to scan through it. I'm not a great er. Finally I've dipped in and out of it but never really got into it, but I didn't know that they had nonviolent only character, so that's pretty exciting. So I will read the article and clean myself up on that a little bit more. And I look forward to hearing your updates and posts
