I don't support capital punishment for any crime and certainly not for rape. This world do nothing but insensitive rape is to kill their victims. If the punishment for raping someone and murdering someone are the exact same, then what reason does a rapist have to leave the only witness to their crime still alive? At worst they get caught anyhow and are sentenced to the exact same punishment, but the chances of them going undetected go up significantly if there is no one to tell police about their crime
