Favorite horror movie remakes. What are some remakes or reboots that did you justice?

article image placeholderThe Blob (1988)
When I saw that film, it absolutely floored me and also scared the s*** out of me, especially the ending when Donald Sutherland meets up with the remaining female survivor that did not get taken over by The Snatchers, and she thinks that he's human and he stares at her and gives her points at her and gives her the Body Snatcher howl, which was ear piercing. And that scene always scared the life out of me. The third is John Carpenter's The Thing masterpiece film

Talking remakes. What horror film remakes you feel are worthy or maybe even better than the original?

That was an excellent choice, man. And it was just really good. I mean, Halloween too, was okay, but this one was awesome, really, really good. And then my third remake that I love is the Halloween from 2018. Now it's sort of like a sequel, but at the same time, it's also kind of like a remake because this one. All right. I know John Carpenter had something to do with it

I think they should have killed a douchebag boyfriend and kept the funny friendzone fat kid alive because he was just hilarious. So those two aspects I didn't really like about it. But overall, I thought it was an entertaining, almost sequel. If you want to say of the Halloween franchise or whatever you want to call it re envisioned Halloween. But I saw it in the theater opening night, and it was fantastic. The theater was packed and it was great to see it on the big screen

Hey, Neal. Yeah. Just like you. I did see the 2017 17. That Halloween. I saw. I didn't see an opening night, but I saw opening week weekend and it was packed. I mean, people were definitely looking forward to it had huge interest. And the reason I know it seems over the top with the way Jamie Lee Curtis is, but really put yourself in her shoes. Think about. Okay

I liked the aspect of the guy, the cool kid trying to look for his sister and going around and asking people if they've seen his sister and he's trying to find her. I like that aspect of it. Some decent kills from what I remember, but it wasn't bad. It was better than the Nightmare in Elm Street remake, for sure

Yeah. So, Neil. So as far as remakes now, I personally like A Nightmare in Elm Street, the franchise better than Friday the 13th. But when it comes to the remakes, I was excited about that Nightmare in Home Street with Jackie Earl Haley. I remember hearing about it. And then when I saw the trailer, I was really psyched for it. And I saw it in the theater. I think I saw it in the theater, and I was very disappointed

Oh, and by the way, that's a correction. Sorry, I didn't mean to say New Nightmare. I meant to say Freddy's dad, the Final Nightmare had a little bit of a prequel spot in it where it showed Freddie as a kid getting the s*** beat out of him by his father and stuff like that, but not enough where it should have been, you know, a whole prequel movie

But those are the purest essential slasher films one through five and six I could deal with because I think he was a great Jason. What's his name? I forgot his name Graham. I thought he was a vicious Jason, and the story was pretty good. And that was the first time we got introduced to Supernatural Jason. But then, like Part Seven, when he's fighting Carrie, it just got really stupid. And I saw a part eight in the theater and that was kind of campy

But same thing goes with Halloween. I remember part two, like, John Carpenter didn't even have anything to do with it. I think he like, there was something that happened, like where he had to make it or something like that or something with this contract. I forgot. So he just kind of slapped something together or gave it to somebody else to make or something
