It has one of the best fight scenes between Keith David and Rowdy Roddy Piper over a pair of sunglasses that can see aliens on Earth who are trying to overtake human beings minds with mind control. And it's just a very socially conscious film about consumerism and a sheep mentality. And it's a very insightful film. My number two is the masterpiece Slasherfilm Halloween in 1978, Carpenter film that on a minimal budget. It has minimal kills and minimal blood. But what is amazing about the film two things

I run down my top 5 all time favorite films from the legendary director.

Neil, this was a really great post. I'll be honest with you. So I've seen a number of John Carpenter films. I've seen The Thing I've seen The Fog, I've seen Halloween, I've seen Big Trouble in Little China. I don't think I've seen as many as I probably should, or at least that he deserves because he really is a visionary

That's all I'm looking for. You don't have to be an expert film reviewer, critic, analytical person. All I'm looking for is engagement. Tell me what you're like. You did top five favorite John Carpenter films list. Are you don't have to give a brief analysis of the films or an understanding of them or a critique. Just post on here. I love the f****** thing or I loved Halloween

And I do recall I know some of the actors who were in it through Friends of friends, and they really appreciated the Asian American actors got featured in mainstream movie, so I probably will go back and watch it. Oh, but, Neil, I do want to say this. I can't believe I missed Star Man and Baseline. You said I really got to go back and see that. I think I would enjoy it

Almost as important as the character or Michael Myers himself. The whole movie together again, is literally, almost like a part of 80s pop, not even 80s because I was 78, but just American pop culture. You think of a scary movie. The first thing that comes to your mind is Freddy. It's Jason, but it's also Michael Myers. It's that Michael Myers theme and I'm about to be cut off

Great, solid list. Jeff, I approve some really good films, particularly. Excuse me, Christine, which I've always loved. I think that Carpenter did a fantastic rendition of one of the best books by Stephen King about a Plymouth car that is in love with its owner and protective and goes through every length to keep its owner. And that is Christine brilliant film. Some really crazy stuff happens in that movie. I've always loved that movie since I was a kid
