Work life balance

This is a work life balance conversation. You know, I've spent the better half or better three quarters of the last 20 years with Craziness being my middle name. I developed my own company, built this company. I do live events or did live events pre covered for large groups of people using drumming as a medium, motivational, inspiration events, kicking off big conferences for Google and intel and Microsoft and a variety of other companies across all the different industry verticals

Getting crazy out of your name

But there's something about giving yourself limitations or certain restrictions when especially when maybe you're feeling lost or overwhelmed by a story or an idea that you want to write about and say, even a restriction like I have to tell this story within 300 words, really magical, unpredictable, surprising things come out of those type of exercises in confinement and restriction every single time I have led them in workshops and in classrooms

And it was so interesting to hear, Rachel, your concept of what destruction, what destruction? That was a funny slip. What structure can provide in times when there is this kind of open architecture and playing around with the things that we need to put in place, but still have this freedom that gives us this new way of living. There's a conversation here on Swell that started this dialogue back and forth around work, life, balance. And I want to spade it here

Doing one simple thing a day that can make us stay #happy & #positive

So on some days it would be a long walk by myself, maybe a feel good movie on another day or something like simple, like cooking up something for myself or even a nice afternoon nap. So all these little things have helped me kind of strike a balance and keep going and keeping my stress down to manageable levels. And I'm really grateful that I had those chance to be a part of this discussion. Thank you so much neatly for sharing this here

WFH allows you to stop and smell the flowers..

I mean, these are really nice things. Yes, you get a little bit too much of family, but I think people really quickly adjust by creating virtual environments or virtual working environments together. And I've seen a lot of innovative ways in Zoom or teams where you just in fact, this is what I do right where I literally as soon as I start my day, I log into this channel that we have common channel, which is called the Office

And for him, it was about filling that void in time. And he filled it with golf. He filled it with a positive outlet that he could build on a new addiction. And I think a lot of people need to find that. And I don't want to make it all about alcoholism, but just that danger of negative behaviors and habits can be just as easily formed as good habits. And making sure that you're finding those positive outlets, I think, is very key right now
