AMA (ask me anything!)

article image placeholderUploaded by @MurderBucketPod
Well, there's a ton of true crime podcasts out there and everybody has a unique name. And I decided just to come up with something goofy, and that was one that worked. So question two is what is one case that you have covered that you distinctly remember children to the bones. And the first episode that comes to mind is the two part episode I did on the murder of Sylvia Lichens

My first Ask Me Anything!

I am a true crime producer and I just loved listening to your AMA and how your podcast got started and now it's inspired me to go look up your podcast and give it a let's listen

Well, I have a very hypothetical question for you or it might not make sense. I just want to understand that if given a chance to speak with one of these killers on your podcast show, Dead or Alive, who would that be and why? And thank you so much for sharing this. Absolutely loved conversation. Would like to hear a lot more

And then the other reason I would want to sit down and talk to him is I would really just want to find out more in depth of why he had such an obsession with him, why he wanted to know everything about him, why he got so angry about the things that he would say and why he ended up deciding to kill him. And yes, you can find all that information on Google and you can find it through websites and YouTube videos and documentaries and stuff

That's so interesting to me that it's Mark David Chaplin that you would want to interview because my mother grew up next door to John Lennon and as a true crime producer, I've never thought about Mark David Chapman as being someone I would personally interview. But I loved hearing your reasons as to why. It was super fascinating to me. It's

I've lived in the same neighborhood for going on almost five years now. And I maybe know a couple of them. And really, I just know their names, their kids names, and that's about it. We see each other occasionally. We don't really talk

Hi. I'm so excited to be part of this conversation because pretty much all the souls I post are about true crime and it's just something I love talking about and learning about. So one question I have for you is what is a case that you think was handpicked really poorly in court or as in do you think someone either was wrongly convicted or was freed and did do it? Like what do you think the court just botched?

Thank you so much for your question. And even before your question was over, the very first thing that came to mind was the Casey Anthony case of the fact that she got acquitted of killing her daughter, Kaylee. Because how in the world did she walk away from that when there was so much evidence against her? It makes absolutely no sense

Because I do remember this guitarist named Dimebag Daryl From, I think the Bandera I'm not sure if I'm even pronouncing that right. But yes, I think one of his fans also shot him in a lot of documentaries, probably, which I've seen. I have seen Obsession playing a very big role when things go south. Because I do understand watching all these documentaries, I think they start to get extremely obsessed

How do you personally balance the darkness?

Hannah, I have a question about how you cope with the material you're dealing with outside of the podcast. I mean, I know creating the episodes is a creative endeavor, but you are spending a lot of time diving into stories about humanity at its worst. So I'm just wondering how you balance that out to stay emotionally healthy

And I really appreciate that very indepth question because doing this for a little over a year now, nobody has ever actually asked me that before and this is going to sound slightly bad and I know it happens to a lot of people but I have ever so slightly become desensitized to some things only because I have watched so many true crime documentaries and done the podcast for as long as I have

Her eldest sister would ride the bus with John to art school together to their art classes and my mother did have one encounter when she was quite young with John sitting in their window still playing guitar. So no not before he was famous she only has stories from back before he was known

Hey, Tim, this is Bethany. I am a true crime producer and I'm also compassion fatigue advocate. I have been producing true crime for close to a decade arcade and understand what it's like to have the darkness creep in. And I myself have set up some really good boundaries and in fact, maybe I'll start a swell cast to talk about true crime and compassion fatigue. Would you be interested
