Why Is It So Hard To Lose Weight In Today’s Culture?

article image placeholderUploaded by @MsColes77
But I'm starting to wonder is maybe part of the problem with people losing weight is the food itself. And I'm not talking about trans fats and obvious simple carbs and things like that. I'm talking about the dyes, the additives, the preservatives, the hormones. I'm talking about those sorts of things that could be one of the reasons why we are struggling to lose weight

And just to add in my previous post, I used to ask myself, why do we now require so many supplements to aid in weight loss? Why do we need so much help to lose weight? If the tried and true calories in, calories out philosophy works, why do we need the weight loss tea? Why do we need the weight loss wraps? Why do we need to take certain supplements that boost our metabolism? Why is our hormonal system so hijacked?

They've done something to it where I think it's just harder to digest and get it out of your system. As well as they're trying to stretch it further and further. I do think we should go farm to table, start to grow our own herbs and whatever else that we can possibly grow tomatoes, cabbage, potatoes, whatever. And that way that would cut down on our grocery bills. But I don't have an answer in regards to trying to lose weight. Diets don't work

It makes it very convenient for us to not have to lose weight. I know it's not a popular opinion. I'm talking about a concept. I'm not talking about people. And I'm talking about a concept I know very well because I'm in that group. So I'm just saying that's one of the reasons why it's hard to lose weight, because we absolutely don't have to. For many of us, it's not a matter of life or death yet, but

I'm not making an excuse. I'm not saying that our food is the reason why we can't combat obesity. I just think it makes it more difficult to combat obesity because of the way our food is made. Even if you look in other countries, their food is much more fresh. African food is much more fresh. Mediterranean food much more fresh. And our food is just not as fresh. Our food is very much processed because it's cheaper. You can buy it in large quantities

@DearAuntyAng

You know how some people, when they lose weight, they show you what they eat during the day to stay within their calorie range? Well, I guess this is big girls way of pushing back against that, because they're showing you what they eat between like eight and five, and it's a ridiculous amount of food

We need to go get our food instead of relying on DoorDash and Uber eats and all these other places to deliver food to us. And there are a lot of things that we need to do as a culture and as a society to improve our health beyond just the food that we eat. But I do believe the food that we eat is definitely not working in our favor, because it's not truly healthy

It's. I truly think that it's hard to lose weight because during the pandemic, we got so used to ordering and just being comfortable, being comfortable in our homes. We weren't able to really go out and engage and be in confined places such as your gyms or your parks or wherever else. And I think now that we've gotten used to living this lifestyle and I it's hard now to break away from those habits. Form during COVID-19

And we're living in an era where people have to work a lot, way more than in the past. And I think that generationally speaking, that's something that a lot of people agree on. The cost of housing is going up. The cost of food is going up. Everything is going up. And so people are having to work a lot more, which means that they have a lot less time to prep food
