Ladies, we may be have to be our own protectors

article image placeholderUploaded by @MsColes77
Will, family. I hope you are having a great Tuesday. So I remember posting on Facebook one time, why don't men step in to defend a woman's honor anymore? And I understand that in today's culture, men are reluctant to step in and defend the honor of a woman that they don't know. I remember Kevin Samuels even saying that men, they protect what is theirs

The men of today are very funny because they're wondering why women prefer to be alone. And the answers is pretty much in their face. If the woman is having to protect her own self, why is she with you? Why she can protect her own self? I don't know. Maybe I'm confused because of the men I grew up around. I don't know. The men I grew up around, they were men in every sense of the word

Oh, he should, however. And there's always a caveat to that. Sometimes the way a man defends or protects his woman is before it gets violent. Sometimes a man be like, babe, let's go. Babe, let's go. Don't say nothing. And she's like, no, I'm going to say something. I'm going to say something. You know how we could do? And he's like, babe, let's go

And one more thing..

Okay, one more thing. Hopefully these aren't the same men who are in the military, because if they are, that would mean they don't mind fighting on behalf of a macrocosmic entity like a nation. They wouldn't mind fighting for that. But on a personal level, they don't want to do that

So he has to get prepared to look and be more observant is what I told him, especially when you where we are right now. So anyway, I think it's unfortunate that women have to do all the defending of themselves. But you know what? We need to. We need to learn how to, because our boyfriends, our husbands aren't going to always be there. And like I said, sometimes they are there and they stuck in the moment or they don't know what to do

I just, you know, had to, you know, because he's like, yeah, but I just don't like that I wasn't around. What if something could have happened? Like, you could have flipped your car over, anything could have happened, and I wasn't there. Like, I don't like that. And so men do still protect women, but the woman has to be in a position where she can allow the man to protect it

But again, if he tell you to be quiet or he tell you to leave it alone or he tell you to walk away and you don't do it, then me personally, I say whatever happened to you happened to you, and he don't have to defend you because he tried to defend you and you wouldn't let him

Hey, Erica, thank you so much for your responses. I agree. Once upon a time, men were just men. It didn't have to be because the woman did all these things to make them want to protect them. It was simply because it is in the male nature to protect women. I mean, look at little boys. When they have a little sister, they protect their little sister

It used to be a time where if a man saw you with a man, there was just an unspoken level of respect for the fact that you are with a man. So I know better than to say anything crazy to you because you're with a man, whether that's your brother, whether it's your dad, whether it's your husband, you're with a man. And so I'm going to respect that

Let me go over here to the gas station where it's well lit and where there's people around, and I will check it out. You just don't know what people have cooking nowadays

There are some women out there who are drama filled. I feel bad for their boyfriends and husbands. I truly do, because they bring that mess to the husband or boyfriend. And then, you know, the husband or boyfriend has to try to help her. And, you know, without there being bloodshed or anything like that. So there's definitely women out there like that. And it gives other women a bad image. You know, those of us out here who are not about drama

You. So that story sounds crazy. Like, that story is bananas. Wow. So I understand the sentiments, but, yeah, I'm not even putting it out there like that because, s. I refuse to be around a man that's not protective of me. I refuse to be around men who are not protectives. That's a no in my book. If the male in me has to come out to the point that I feel like I need to protect me and you right there

But then these same guys want women to be ultra feminine and super sweet. And the reason why women, I believe, are doing more things on their own or saying that they're independent is because if we look at the history, particularly in the black community, with our men being subjected to so much harm or doing their own self harm or leaving their families, that's what the women were. They had to do what they had to do. They had to do what they had to do

I was in college, and they ate out every single meal. It was blowing my mind. I was like, I can't get a bowl of cereal for breakfast. It's like, what you want? I mean, everything was eating out. It was annoying to me, and I didn't grow up eating out like that. And I was a kid who wish I had McDonald's more often

I don't understand that, because if you present a male with a problem, he's gonna find a solution. That's the male mindset. You know, they don't want to chit chat. Like, it's very few, you know, straightforward. You know, I got to handle things because their mind is usually focused on taking care of their family and handling business

That is the male's job. And don't get me wrong. So my uncles will tell you, they'd be like, don't piss her off, because then the sister going to come out and the sister will come out of us, but they're going to let us talk our shit. But if you get too close, if you say the wrong thing, don't expect to be standing. So I'm all for women's rights. I'm all for women's liberation

It's very interesting because we can't say that women are moving into the masculine, you know, because I hear that online, oh, women are moving into the masculine, so we can't protect them. Okay, so if women are moving into the masculine, dude, what are the men moving into? Because if a woman has to arm herself up like that, that means that there's no protection there. You know, since being married, I feel ultimately protected and such

You know what I mean? So, yeah, I definitely get it. But like I said, when you become an adult, like, you have to learn or you have to really take a look at an account at what has transpired, you know, and what. How you can do better and be better by yourself. And I get it. Everyone does not do that. Half the people don't even want to do that

Women shouldn't be trying to start mess with men and run their mouth to men and refuse to, to calm down and to use self control. I agree with that. But there are cases, there are situations where men just simply don't respect women, period. It doesn't have anything to do with you running your mouth. It has nothing to do with any of that. It's just men simply do not respect women

And we can't allow anyone that the person could harass us. Or it could be. You know, the relation could be a problem for us. And so we have to decide a limit and we have to be very very careful

We need to keep him nice and calm, you know, so, so sometimes it's a whole, it's a whole bunch of stuff that, that goes on and we only see one viewpoint. And as a man, he got to know his woman. You know, if he got the wrong type of woman who always getting into it with women, with people, he need to let her go. She's going to end up getting him hurt

And when people expect that right off the bat, it's it just happens. And a lot of times when you have a situation that copies that, but the girl actually stands up for herself and says, hey, get your hands off of me. A lot of times that dissuades someone from acting. So thanks for bringing that up. Yeah. I really like that response
