Is American food making us fat and sick?

article image placeholderUploaded by @MsColes77
Everybody's not in a situation where they can grow food, have a garden, have a farm, all these things. So how do we get around this stuff? Because these people are traveling outside the country, and they're just losing 40 pounds just from living. And then when they come back to the United States, they say that they gain the weight back eating less food. It's just chronic to me. But I'm just wondering, is our diet killing us over here in America?

Hello. I'll dive into this one. The quick, simple answer is yes, we are killing ourselves by what we eat. And what's funny, not in a funny way, but like the Governor of California newsom is is, sorry, I'm emptying boxes to bring someone who's moving. The Governor of California is outlawing certain foods. Like you had mentioned, other countries do skittles

Why is all that other stuff in there? It literally does not make sense. So, yes, the food is making us sick, and this is anything from obesity, right? Which, God forbid, you mentioned obesity. Everybody's mad because don't tell me not to be fat. But what we're not realizing is, is your obesity coming just from you eating a lot, or is your body inflamed? Is your body literally fighting?

My apologies. I got cut off from my reply and I really don't like to talk more than five minutes, but this is a subject I'm kind of passionate about, so forgive me, but I did get cut off saying that there's gems everywhere. And I remember growing know in my age group, the gyms were for people that really wanted to bulk up. It was the guys that wanted to look like Arnold Schwarzenegger for the ladies that wanted to bulk up

It keeps the patient well enough to be okay and to keep coming back to you, but it also keeps them sick enough to continue to buy the pharmaceuticals. So that is really what a doctor does. And a lot of these things are not going to tell you. You kind of have to figure it out for yourself, which that's another conversation. But when I eliminated yogurt from my son's diet, I didn't even recognize that he didn't have another eczema flare

The food options that they have are atrocious. And I figure if they have to be forced to eat this, let me see what they're serving. And so I got a few lunches, and even I couldn't stomach it. So it starts early and it's strategically done because it's cheaper, the profit margin is larger, and it's not just in food. Like I said, I feel like it's in different different areas

Why does it seem like nowadays we have to do all these different things to lose weight? We can't just go to the gym and cut back on certain unhealthy eating habits and foods and go to the gym and drink lots of water or go walking and drink lots of water. It seems like we can't do that anymore. It seems like that's not enough. We need all these supplements now. We need all these cleanses

This weren't women that went to the gym and was in the gym five days a week, working out for 60 minutes a day and eating 17 carbs a day. This wasn't those women. These were women that were living a normal life, eating a normal diet, and yet they still remain slim. And for a long time and I was just telling Brian this for a long time, I wondered, why is it so hard for us to lose weight all of a sudden?

And you're right. When we were younger, the gyms like Gold's Gym. Gold's Gym was a bodybuilder's gym. That's what it was. But before it was ever a bunch of before it was ever a national chain of gyms, it was a bodybuilder's gym. You went there. The guys went there when they wanted to bulk up, get big and compete. It wasn't for women

And so they just know that the food is convenient, it's cheap, it tastes good. The government has convinced people that all those dyes are harmless. They're just there to make the food more colorful. We just put this stuff in here because it's additives and preservatives. We want the food to last longer. We don't want it to go bad quickly. We have to ship it so far. We need it to stay fresh

That's why I think it was so funny how the GMO craze came out a few years ago where everybody was like, non GMO, I need non GMO foods. Most of the food we eat is GMO, even down to the produce. A lot of the produce we eat is genetically engineered. Bananas are genetically engineered. The bananas we eat are not the way bananas are grown

I can say the continent of Africa, most of Africa doesn't exist. And so makes you wonder, why do children there not have peanut allergies? Are they allergic to peanuts here? Or are they allergic to the GMOs or the pesticides for peanuts? Makes you wonder
@EasyEnglish
Like every day I have this new discovery thought in my head that my boss is like, yeah, we need to do that, or whatever. I keep coming up with just new creative things to do and it's crazy. I'm not trying to conflate keto and American diets and how awful those are, but it's insane. I don't know why we put up with this diet, the standard American diet

It's just that I've spent a lot of time talking about this, and people tend to think that I'm bugged out or I'm paranoid or some type of conspiracy theorist. And I'm telling you, I know what I'm talking about. What you're talking about, Tanya? I was talking about about 1520 years ago, and when I saw the title, is American Food Making US Fat or Sick, something came to mind, and you had said it

And here I was at the store, up, starting my day already grocery shopped by 06:00. A.m. And so that brain fog was gone. Like you said, the clarity my hair grew, my nails grew, my skin definitely clearer, and the better sleep. Yes. And so I definitely know it has something to do with eating less and eating better. And of course, keto, people may not like that it's high fat protein. But you know what? It's not packaged stuff

That means it's processed and frozen somewhere along the line and then brought to the United States or sitting in a warehouse somewhere with preservatives and stuff put on it. I wash all my fruits and vegetables with vinegar and water and baking soda because it has such a film on it and there are bugs in it, period. So, yes, we need to revamp our whole pyramid of food in this country

I feel like people are getting more and more engaged in their potential to create their own ecosystem and not depend on processed foods. But as long as there's food deserts, that we're going to have a problem. So we need to have local gardens and places where people can take part in those gardens

In fact, when she went back to Japan, of course, her family didn't down her about this, but she realized she was bigger than her family members. They didn't stop eating sweets. And it wasn't that they weren't eating certain foods. She just noticed that all of their portions were well balanced, and most of it, or the majority of it, was clean food, clean eaten

And we have community gardens where people can come and they can rent them a little plot of part of the garden, and they can grow whatever they want to in the garden, in their little part of the garden. They can grow whatever they want to, and it's theirs, and they can come back and check on it, and they can come and eat the fruit of the vine of the stuff they've planted. And it's really good

And so we do our part to be led by his wisdom. And how to do that. We have common sense. We know that some stuff is just not healthy. No matter how you slice it, it's not healthy. Shouldn't be eating it. And some stuff we just have to do in moderation. Like, there's nothing wrong with every once in a while having a little Debbie Snack Cake or something. Just do it in moderation

It's not what we're eating, but it is what we're eating. And it may not be so much that we're eating something unhealthy, it's just that its process has been unhealthy

That's one thing I pray, is that, Lord, change my appetite so that I love healthy food so that I'm not craving things with MSG because they're flavorful, that I'm not craving things that are GMO, that I'm not craving things that are full of sugar and high fructose corn syrup and all that stuff. Change our tastes so that we desire the fruit of the earth and not all of this ultra processed junk. So thank you so much for your response
