Parenting by personality types
I was raised by my grandmother, and my father used to come and get us every weekend. So he had his different parenting style. And my grandmother was older, of course she had a different parenting style. So it's funny now to see how both of their parenting styles show up in my life with my children. I have three grown daughters right now, and each one of them, I parent them differently
But instead of doing it in a loving, respectful way, you can do it in a very forceful, opinionated way. And so anyway, hearing this reminds me of that process of being aware and transitioning into that conscious approach to parenting and just communication in general. I just had my first son with my wife two weeks ago, a little over two weeks ago, and so it is exciting and nerve wracking all at the same time
So I think also that you should give yourself some grace if things in the future like your child does something different from the way you would do it. It's not anything against you. It's just that they all have their own personalities. And that's something that I'm learning as well, because sometimes I see and my daughters don't do something and I think, wow, where were they raised? Didn't I raise all of them? Weren't they raised in the same household?
