Does Jewish Law Offer Guidance on How to Fight War? Add Your Voice

article image placeholderAsk the Rabbis | Does Jewish Law Offer Guidance on How to Fight a War?
This is what's so special about this article, which I enjoyed so much, because it really helps you understand that people read in the letter of the law. They pull quotes that really help justify what the concept of self defense is. What are the difference between options that are violent and nonviolent? And it makes us feel are there through lines, through all of this? What does war mean in Jewish religion?

Hey, Deborah. This is awesome. Thank you for creating this space of thought and providing the link for the article which we read. Really good article. You know, at the end of the article, we were only filled with really one kind of question. After our studies in seminary and studying briefly the Torah First Testament

So to look at the fight in the history of the Jews as being basically a tribe that's been kicked out over and over again but has had to rise and build their strength, you're really bringing up for me sort of that desire to understand the human condition behind all the strategy. We're going beyond the text now of how to fight and what is war, but we're going to the people and what's in their souls and in their gut to make them want to fight a certain way
