The Barrier Between us

article image placeholderUploaded by @MitsuhaMiyamizu
We go to recreational centers with swimming pools. The families here are so called normal social circles. But there is a barrier. And across this barrier is a completely different community in which there are the special needs families. They are being put in a separate environment. In the separate environment, the kids go to separate schools. The people are in separate social circles, separate facilities, separate services, everything with the word separate in front of it. Why the barrier?

Why can't we embrace people with their abilities ? #VoicesofYouth #Truth #Barrier #SpecialNeeds #sayitonswell #whatsyourpov

Thank you for this post. And I think that's really important to spread the word about, because I think it's really sad that people have a tendency to, like, separate people with special abilities, with people that are, quote, unquote, like normal. We all know normal. There's no such thing as normal. But able bodied people consider themselves to be normal

Thank you for your reply. And you know, the society teaches that disability is the worst thing that could happen to someone. Whenever people become wheelchair bound or lose their business or lose their hearing, become chronically ill, ill people will try to make them able again. And if they are not able to do so, then the disabled people will become pitiable, not good enough, and just weak. There is nothing as part of society that allows disabled people to be independent and live a very good life
