Household bullying on appearance

article image placeholderUploaded by @mis._.sim
There's a great rapper they have. But she's somebody who's been always told about her appearance. It's like, you know what? You're the most pretty woman in the world. If you reduce a little weight, if you are a little brighter in color, you'd look gorgeous in that dress. Oh, my God. Your sister would look so much better in that dress. She's that Caroline. She's just minding her own business

Hey Simran, how are you? Thank you for posting this. It's really messed up. I don't know how can a father ever say that to her daughter? Something I don't understand. I also don't understand but I think I belonging to a typical Punjabi family and growing up in Delhi I think I've seen this across a lot with my cousins, with me, with anyone in the family

This is a tough one. So my niece, she's now 18 in College, but she's dark, right. She's, you know, Punjabi, but she's darker skinned and so cute, so beautiful. Right. I've had to be really mean to my aunties and my uncles and my cousins who would tell her to be lighter skinned. And it was like right to her face. They would say things and I'm like call them out

I wish somebody understood that. Well, let's just be the next generation who never lets it enter our generation. At least that's the most we can do, isn't it? You
