Hello everyone. This is gopalakrishnan. Today's Monday, and I am back with another interview. This time it's not with an author. This time it's with Saint Denibo's, who is a child development officer. As you are aware, since last week I have started a series Once well on subtle gender biases in our society. So, in line with that topic, I thought of discussing few points on gender bias with Miss Zianthani boss

And these problems are producing from the early marriage. The undernorst girls who are giving births and low bar to it infants. So all things are mainly generating from our country. That is those early marriage of the girls. So this has to be changed for this malnutrition. If we cannot change these early marriage happenings then there is very difficulty. Actually impossible. I should say impossible to cure this malnourishment. So responsibility is used

You are a child development officer and you told that you provide holistic development for children as such. So from your perspective you might be providing the holistic nutrients, food supplements, et, meera, irrespective of the gender. But have you noticed, have you noticed in your line of duty, when it goes to families, that a girl child get less food supplement compared to boys and her health is getting compromised at a tenter age without people?

Yes. Supplementary bias is there. Girl children are neglected in many occasions. Okay? I have visited many many houses. They are poor. They want their girl married at earlier age. And they want their boys should be healthy. They will carry forward their legacy actually. But actually in this process I will give more responsibility to the elder woman of a family. Because women herself neglect those girl children. They never care for their own health. So they produced those underwear child

It's true, like we always say women is the greatest enemy of women. I need to say that I say that just like you said that you give the responsibility of the elderly lady in the family it's that we need to sensitize of the deed to take care of their daughter in laws or the granddaughter and whatever because what you said is right

But the question is that if girl child are lesser than the boy's girl children are lesser than the boys children as per presence in Anganwadi centers but mainly there are girls children's. Girl children also come. Sometimes they are fewer with comparison to the boys, but girls girls are there because I visit 15 to 16 center mostly in every month and this has not observed by me that girl children are not coming, at least in my blocks

So there, at least to some extent, that gender bias is reduced is a very good thing to observe, though we have a lot more to do in bringing gender equality. At least a small step taken is a big thing. And I also feel that Anwaris have gone a long way in ensuring somewhat gender equality among at least preschool children

Yes, meera you are right. Definitely in urban area gender bias is there. But they are not direct like rural areas. Rural areas they are outspoken urban areas like at my home also sometime my mother told don't talk loud because voice should be less. Actually these practices these practices are in our subconscious mind actually we are conscious that we are girl. This has been taught from our childhood talk loud loud talking loud is not restricted

Exactly. Tani, I also have the same point. What you told see, I don't want girls to invite the bad habits of boys. I'm not at all interested in showcasing feminism through the fact that boys smoke. I can also smoke. Boys drink. I'll also drink. But I would prefer that the good habits which the girls are expected to practice why can't we set the same rule for boys also?
