THE RESURGENCE OF CONFLICT DIAMONDS ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฑ

article image placeholderUploaded by @MichaelHilliard
The public thinks these are diamonds from Russia or Dubai. And I think a classic example of how blatant this is is in between Central African Republic and South Sudan. The Central African Republic has broken down to a recent civil war. Now, before the war, the Central African Republic was responsible for about the six most diamonds in Africa. As soon as it was classified as a conflict zone, it went to zero. The no diamonds coming from the Central African Republic

So I guess this has been something that's been going on in my head now, ever since the Afghanistan crisis, and now with this, I am even more convinced that therein lies some sort of a solution

Artificial diamonds are the way forward.

They're made by some lab technician with a white coat in a place like Boston. I think that's the way forward. I'm a big proponent of artificial diamonds. They are much less of the price. And I know they're ethical because they're made by guys in scientists who paid a decent wage, because they're always usually made in Western countries. So I think that's the way to go

But without the addiction and without the cost of sourcing, the terrible cost of sourcing the drugs that are rampant, both in South America and other parts of Asia. And so on. You just started getting me to think on those terms. I don't have a good answer, but I think we need to. I'm hoping that from drug industries, from Pharma or from other places, some sort out of a better alternative can emerge
