Why We Learn Algebra?

You say, oh, that's a basic, I need to know how to write and things of that nature. But typically through high school you will find if you have a love for education, you may find where you need to go into

But I think the most important reason to take any subject is not just the professions it can lead you to, because if you plan on becoming a parent, I believe the higher educated the parent is, you're bound to be able to pass on that knowledge to your child and then or your grandchild over time. And because of that, your child and or grandchild will acquire a love for the subject that will lead them down that professional path, even if it didn't lead you down that professional path

And then be able to analyze that thinking. That basic skill is what algebra will for you. So I think it's a very important course, a very important way of developing your intellectual capacity as a student. And it should be pretty much mandatory for all kids and it has to be taught in a way that it is more accessible. I know students often feel like, oh, it's not for me, it's only for kids who are going to become engineers and things like that

I really struggled with algebra as a person but excelled in a lot of other things. And I think that just goes back to saying what it is that you mentioned about how it's really there just to kind of reverberate some learning styles and some personalities that really enjoy that mathematic medical pursuit. So yeah, really interesting. Wanted to chime in

Algebra is Fundamentally Important

So it's just the baseline, the bottom line thing you need to get to college. So for those three reasons, algebra is fundamentally important. It's so important that I think the way we look at education to trains in K through twelve, where we're not just doing it by grade level, maybe up to 6th grade or 7th grade, we all expect to do the same things
